Polydomes or the embossing of a polymer film are often used
to provide enhanced operator feedback. The embossed dome creates
a tactile response and audible click when depressed. The polydomed
layer is laminated beneath the Rubber Pad or graphic layer Embossing
of the graphics layer is often used in combination with polydoming
to provide free space for the domes.
The tight tolerance high
speed stamping expertise HPT has gained
over the years, has allowed for the design and manufacture of our
own tactile steel domes used in many of our membrane switch and
control panel assemblies. These domes are manufactured in a method
that allows for robotic placement into the switch assemblies thus,
reducing cost and increasing quality. The implementation of the

Division tactile dome manufacturing and assembly has been so successful
that we are able to compete on cost with the traditionally less
expensive polyester dome technology.
